Word At The Wharf Poetry Slam!

If so, why not sign up to be part of our Word At The Wharf Poetry Slam in celebration of 10 years of Magic & Mayhem at Fishery Wharf Cafe.
We are looking for 8-10 poets of any age and level, to join our daytime family friendly poetry slam, held in the nature of good fun and to showcase the many wordsmiths of our local are, both young and old!
How the Slam Works
There will be 3 rounds, the 1st round will be on the theme of ‘Celebration of Place, however that resonates with you, and if you are lucky enough to get through the 1st round, the 2nd & 3rd will be on whatever theme you choose.
Poems must not exceed 3 minutes each, or 1 point will be deducted for every second you go over!
All poets will compete in Round 1.
There will be 5 selected judges from within the audience and the top 4 poets with the highest score will go through to round 2, then whittled down to the top 2 who will go to to compete for the title of ‘Word At The Wharf Poetry Slam Champ 2025’!!!
Whilst there is a competitive edge to the Slam, it is for the engagement of the public and intended as a subjective bit of fun! Therefore all content must be family friendly please.
